So far doesn't seem to have impacted the API. I'm getting all the usual stations, have the 6 hours of guide data, it's playing no problem, and even got the new stations that were just added.
Cordcutters news being useless as ever again in their timely reporting. It wasn't "unexpected" at all, actual users of their service had a notice about the shutdown of the website since November 6th.
it shouldn't affect the addons / docker stuff as they dont use the website at all
Hopefully they now put more effort into the android app rollout to more countries!
That would mean we get more regions
I have tried Samsung as a Custom Channel (using the "github scrip"t topic mentioned elsewhere)and it plays but the Guide is only placeholders, none of the mentioned providers work, only placeholders!
2024/12/11 11:33:45.373123 [M3U] Refreshed lineup for samsung with 450 channels
2024/12/11 11:34:49.812437 [DVR] Indexed 460 channels (153594 airings + 0 replaced) with placeholders [1m2s index]
It doesn't. This user does.
Human intervention.
One pass per show using the channel I decided has the best guide data for it.
Ah OK. The way I read it at first, it sounded like the pass picked the channel in real time based on the EPG.
For a minute, I thought you were doing black magic.
Is anyone else seeing the same channels being added, then removed from your lineup?
Every day or so (for the last month) this has been repeating for me with the same channels being added, removed, added, removed...

Yeah, pretty much does the same for me, too.
I would assume it's using geolocation and depending on where you are in the U.S. it will give you different regional channels. I'm only using the US region. REGIONS=us
the docker container just uses the .json data file.
Your location shouldn't affect it.
I suspect it might be my server keeps getting them and not getting them
Do we know what REGION those channels are coming from? USA?
Did you check the actual channel lineup in the source?
Just asking to make sure it's not a bug with the script.
My system is in a transition state right now while moving to a new house and I don't have anything else running other than Channels itself.
Yes.
Your script is working fine!
Yes, USA.
Since I'm in California, I thought they were regional channels (all channels I mentioned are in California).
I think Samsung does do regionally based locals, so the lineup will depend on matts scraper i.p
i just ask for USA ip so i suspect sometimes i get a CA region and sometimes I dont.
The question is - do we want CA or not CA?
Or try for both
Doesn't matter to me as long as the channels in the lineup quit flipping between available and not available. I was about to disable those channels to remedy it.
Not sure if users in other US states/regions have the same issue with their regional locals, as I don't recall seeing any other regional locals come and go in my lineup.
This started around November 9th for me. Never had this issue before that.
hmmm im not sure. i dont really want to need to specify a specific region for the country.
Not sure if vpn API will allow that. ill need to check
If it's too much trouble, I can just disable those channels.
Might cause issues for other users that are using channel collections or add ons to consolidate source channels though.
In the documentation for Samsung TV Plus for Channels by Matt Huisman dated August 30, 2024 it says:
groups
the groups you want to include.
Overrides GROUPS environment variable if present
eg. /playlist.m3u8?regions=us&groups=Kids,Comedy
how do I format if the group is
Animals, Nature & History
None of the following seems to work:
groups=Animals, Nature & History
groups="Animals, Nature & History"
groups='Animals, Nature & History'
- Thanks
