I have had season pass for the past few years, but it suddenly stopped making the recordings of the new live episodes that start at 11:30 pm. I went and looked at the future episodes and noted that the old episodes that aired at 10pm are all marked as new and the new episodes are marked as live. The pass is set up to record new episodes only. Is it skipping the actual new episodes because they are marked as live ant as new?
If the new episodes are only tagged "Live", and are missing the "New" tag, then yes, Channels is not recording them because the guide says they are not new.
This shouldn’t be the case, here’s my pass and it correctly lists the upcoming Benedict Cumberbatch-hosted episode (S47E19) as scheduled and “New.” Maybe double-check and make sure you didn’t set some advanced pass logic that is causing future recordings to be missed?
Other troubleshooting ideas:
- Try redownloading your guide data
- Is it some bad guide data that is source-specific? Are you based in the U.S.? Are you using OTA, cable, or TVE guide data?
Edit: I should mention that I added the “SeasonNumber > 45” logic because I didn’t want any of the 10PM re-run episodes, but excluding that shouldn’t make a difference with your issue.
Doesn't seem like you have a pass since it says "Create Pass" in your photo
I deleted the pass right before I took the photo
The new tag is not always reliable as I have found out some shows are Tagged as Premiere. I think it is better to using contains is better you can Add New and Live together.
I just created a new pass and it looks like it is picking up the later show it has the clock next to it
Note that there have not been any new episodes of SNL for the past few weeks.
This is why "New" is not a reliable tag to record ... New but aired in 2012 lol. I remember when I used EPG123 it would override the NEW tag by using the original airdate when creating the XMLTV.
I did not realize that. So perhaps this was all for nothing. Thanks though to all who responded.
