I understand the screen saver not activating for paused live tv since the buffer continues to fill and then resumes, but can the behavior be changed when an error occurs (Lost Signal) to avoid potential burn in on OLEDs? Alternatively it could just kick back to the Guide after a set amount of time displaying the error that way the screen saver can activate.
Do you have a recent situation where this happened? The code should be already doing what you are requesting and I believe others have reported it working as you expected, so there may have been something else funny going on.
If you do have a recent situation, submitting diagnostics from the app would be very helpful in tracking this down.
