I have run into this many times recently and it is super annoying. I use the scrub feature to quickly navigate a recording by flicking the touchpad on the remote, but if the scrubber position hits the end of the recording, the ATV app immediately closes the recording. I wouldn’t expect this behavior since the recording is not currently playing.

I didn’t know this was a bug! I take advantage of this on every show I watch. It completes the show, marks as watched and preps me for the next episode, all with a quick flip.
Only every once in a while does it snag me when I just wanted to skip to a late section of the show and overrun it.
Really? I have only ever hit this by mistake. You can always hit menu and mark as watched once this is fixed 
This issue is fixed in v2.1.20
