Season Pass for a PBS show is choosing a disabled channel

When setting up a season pass for a local PBS show, the channel selected is one not enabled in the current channel map, but is in the Guide.

In this case, the PBS show is on two local PBS channels at the same time in the Guide on 28.1 and 56.1. The show selected for the pass is 28.1, which is a disabled channel due to poor reception. It should be choosing 56.1, but nothing I can do will make the system take this choice.

It appears that when you do a search for a show, you’ll get returns for channels which are both enabled and disabled in the Guide.

Are recording happening from the disabled channel, or do you just see it in the list of channels in the schedule?

The latter is normal and will fix itself next time the guide data refreshes.

There was an attempt to record from the disabled channel, which of course failed. I don’t see the disable channel in the Guide, but like I said, it does show up in a search for a particular show.

In the HDHR section of the DVR web ui,

  1. Click the gear icon and select Scan Network. This will refresh the list of channels from the HDHR

  2. Click the circle refresh icon underneath your HDHR to reload the guide data

Thanks! Going in via the Web UI allowed me to correct the problem I was having. The season pass for the PBS show is now recording the correct channel.

I now have a better understanding as to what you can/should do from the iOS app and the Web UI.

I spoke too soon. On further checking, I’m still seeing the disabled channel (in this case 28.1) in the search results. All this after re-scanning the network and reloading the Guide.

So any ideas of how I should proceed?

Under the HDHR, where it says “xxx channels” if you click on that does the channel show up as disabled?

If you’re seeing results in search that are more than a week away then that might be normal.

Yes, I checked as you requested and the channel is indeed disabled. Also, yes, the disabled channel shows up in results that are over a week in the future.

So explain to me as to why that should be considered normal? Are you implying that as we move to that date, the results will eventually show the correct channel?

A manual refresh only updates the next 7 days of the data. Beyond that will refresh a day at a time every morning.

I understand that this behavior is confusing. I’ll see if I can make disabled channels reflect immediately in the guide data.

OK, I think I got it. It is a bit confusing. Thanks for your assistance.
