Second DVR Hard Drive

Morning,

Seeking any assistance from you fine people.

Hard drive is around 80% full and the system gets wonky when approaching that number....buffers, slow response, etc. Found an old 2TB drive I had in storage and moved some recordings from the main DVR drive to the 2 TB second DVR drive. Deleted the files in the dvr folder via my mac on the main drive after moving but it doesn't change the available percentage of storage I have available for the main hard drive. I'm assuming this is because I deleted them from the folder, rather than through the Channels UI on my ATV.

What am I doing incorrectly here?? I assume if I delete them from the UI it will delete the actual files on the second hard drive, which I don't want.

Any insight you fine people might have is greatly appreciated.

Did you empty the Trash after deleting the files?

I did. Channels UI said 74.7% full...deleted a large TV show folder out of main DVR folder after transferring it to second drive. UI still says 74.7% full.

Hmmm, maybe try to shut down/restart the CDVR server?

Think I already tried that but will give it a go, again. I appreciate your input.

Definitely try restarting the Mac. Temporary APFS snapshots used for backups sometimes hold onto deleted items longer than they ideally should, but the space should be reclaimed when you restart.
