Seeing Guide Issues Again - A&E - UPDATE: Appears to be Wider Issue Across More Channels - See SD Thread Linked

Anyone else seeing these ? Was recording A&E Live PD last night and when I recorded roll call the PD Cam show recorded instead, then the Mini Pod that was on this morning (11/17) recorded something completely different. The main show i.e. the 3 hours Live PD live show on Friday worked fine but not sure why these others are not recording properly.

Any thoughts on this one ? Everything else has been working fine except for some of the quality issues on channels such as Hallmark but that is an SD Premium TV issue.

Quick update. Just tuned into 1402 (A&E) and You Can't Turn That Into a House is meant to be on, instead Live PD is on ! Therefore not sure what has changed with this and where the issue lies. Any help is appreciated

@timstephens24 yes posted there as well in case a wider issue. Digging deeper it looks like PT guide with ET feed which is really strange. Any idea then on whether this points to a Channel DVR or Premium TV issue ? Just want to make sure nothing had changed on my end. NAS that I used for recording is still showing correct local time, Channels is set for PST as it was before

@tmm1 just wondered if you were aware of this thread over on SD (linked by @timstephens24 above) , the issues it appears to be causing and if there is anything we can do WRT your guide to help compensate ?

SD's guide is messed up too, so it's not just Channels. If SD added east coast feeds (or their TV provider added east coast feeds) it seems like no one managing the guides were notified.

Thats what I was thinking as well. Great if they now have ET for all feeds and have finally fixed the E vs W issues BUT people need to know ! :slight_smile:

If truly a permanent change then I guess forcing Channels to EST from PST would help BUT that is only if all channels have now been aligned that way.

Another update here. Nick over at SD responded to the SD thread stating this is a change that wasn't meant to go live yet and has opened a ticket with their upstream provider

Hopefully they get all their west coast feeds to also have east coast feeds. I'd probably go back to their service.

FWIW, SD has updated their guides to reflect the change. Discovery, TLC, and Animal Planet confirmed affected.

Any ideas when ChannelsDVR guide will reflect the change?

Are these EST feeds everywhere or only on the east coast?

If someone can send me the discover.json from their tuner I can fix this on our side

Looks like it’s for central and eastern, and just these three channels for now.

Here’s what their support guy Nick wrote yesterday in the SD forum...

“We haven't heard back so I switched the guide for Eastern/Central time zone customers to Eastern for DSC, TLC, and APL so the guide is correct in HDHomeRun apps. The app will show the new guide when relaunched. The DVR will pick up the change in the next 2 hours.

For Pacific time zone customers I changed the feed so it should start playing Pacific content once the HDHomeRun resyncs.

Find HDHR ip and open http://x.x.x.x/discover.json then file>save and email to [email protected]

Easy enough. Done. Email sent with subject "HDHomeRun Guide Issues- DSC,APL,TLC - JSON files"

Thanks. Wait 10 minutes, then open DVR web UI, hold SHIFT on keyboard and click Check For Updates

New build is ready. After update completed, click circle refresh icon under one of your hdhomeruns

Outstanding. Just updated & refreshed guides. I can confirm that DSC, TLC, and APL guide now matches the content. Thank you VERY much for the incredble customer support, especially for something that doesn’t have anything to do with your code!

Silicon Dust has switched back to the Pacific feeds again for these channels.

Ugh. That sucks. I assumed that was permanent since they said it was their goal to get them to Eastern.
