Separate Channels lineup from HDHR lineup

It would be GREAT to see Channels DVR get its own control over channel lineup, instead of relying on the HDHomerun lineup!

:+1: Totally agree.

That would allow setting the HDHR hidden/fave channels separate from Channels DVR.
Maybe that would stop Channels DVR from telling me my HDHR tuner has no channels (after the HDHR auto background scan can't tune them for any reason)

I am also tired of Channels DVR telling me I have new Channels that I have disabled. So many annoying bugs that have not been addressed.

Just sync your channel source on your android device. I have to do that on my phone every once in a great while. If you use channel collections though it doenst matter which channles show up. You never see them

sooo many bugs. soon they will slap an experimental label on it.

Its a pain in the *ss to sync 5 different Clients every time this happens they should fix this darn bug. Stop making excuses for the developers.... Why does everything require a work around?

Why does every Android device ship with a different version of the OS that requires so many workarounds? Why can't can't every Android device work consistently with the same software?

Do you honestly expect a small development team of 3 to support every idiosyncrasy of the myriad dearth of Android devices when Google cannot even do it?

No, I just have actual responses to real-world situations and experiences.

I have been on both sides of the fence, both as a resident and as a caretaker/gardener, so I can know empirically which side has the greener grass.

I have experience with every DVR starting with Showshifter so when I report a bug because it is a bug ... so let's stop blaming the OS"s and squash those pesky bugs.

Great! So you've filed a bug report with Google that their 4K-capable OS does not display content at 4K resolution then, right?

I didn't actually create this thread, it was apparently broken off from another. That said, it would be great if I didn't have to go through the source lineup to eliminate all the new channels that just magically appear ... monthly. That is truly a major poo poo on Channels DVR. Trying to explain to family members how to do something the software 'could' do on its own would also be a major plus.

... and, from the original thread, I'm glad there are no hard feelings between channels dvr and Silicondust.

Voted!

Most input sources (OTA, cable, etc.) have static lineups that don't regularly change. Using third-party tools to get internet-sourced FAST streams into Channels is not the domain of Channels. If you're going out of your way to get extra stuff into your DVR, then I feel it should be up to you to manage all of the "extra" stuff you're bringing in.

Hi friend! I'm not interested in arguing with you about something so simple, so I'm just going to show you what some stupid user like me experiences over the past 30 days;

If you wouldn't mind posting your personal cell phone number, I'd be happy to give it to a couple 80+ year old users that can call you to guide them thru syncing their client with the server every few weeks, that would be greeeeeeaaaaaat thaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnkss.

It sounds like you're asking for Channel Collections. Is there something that is missing there?

We don't need trolling on this forum.
