I’ve created a pass for the NCAA March Madness tournament and it did record all of the games this past weekend. However, the pass is also recording the NIT tournament games, and I see it is scheduled to also record some of the Division II tourney games this week.
Did anyone figure out a way to record just the main NCAA Men’s Division I tournament? Maybe this will require the devs to tweak something on the DVR backend?
On the web UI:
DVR>Passes>College Basketball>Click on down arrow>Advanced
Add a condition:
Title CONTAINS NCAA
Save Rule
Hmmm. Thank you, Debbie. That does indeed appear to narrow down the scheduled recordings to the correct ones. I never thought to try that, since the title of the series, “2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament”, already contains “NCAA”! Hopefully the devs will chime in to explain.

I guess our guide provider is grouping all NCAA games under the same “series id”. When you add the additional Title CONTAINS, it applies that to each game’s title and filters out the ones you don’t want.
Yeah, it’s all grouped under the “College Basketball” series So it’s more than a little tricky. Luckily that advanced setting should do the trick!!
Yeah…that advanced setting has allowed me to further define many passes. Really appreciate it’s inclusion…these type of features make Channels DVR the premier solution. Very advanced vs any other solution, so I don’t have to manually manage recordings (i.e.; deleting unwanted recorded shows)…everything is automatic with Channels. For the most part, our only decision is what to add to recordings for shows/movies.
Oh ok, I see what is happening. This is a tricky one…there is differing behavior depending if the pass was created on Channels iOS or on the web UI.
When I search for “ncaa basketball” on the web UI, the first result is “2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament”. Clicking on that program actually redirects to a different program name of just “College Basketball”. Creating a pass from here results in a pass named “College Basketball”. My series pass isn’t named “College Basketball”, it’s named “2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament”, but they are apparently the same series ID.

That’s when the light bulb went off and I remembered I had created the pass on my iPhone using Channels iOS.
Sure enough, searching for “ncaa basketball” on iOS gives the same search results with “2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament” being the first. But tapping on this program does NOT redirect to a “College Basketball” page like it does on the web UI. The title of the program stays as “2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament”, and then creating a pass here results in a pass named “2018 NCAA Basketball Tournament”.
So that explains my total confusion 
After that lengthy explanation, glad we only use the web ui
