There are some shows where they play the same exact episode five times a day. I guess that's for the people that don't record it and need to see it live and hopefully there's a time that people watching live are able to see their show. This seems to be typically a news station for example. So how do I tell it to only record one? I don't want five of the exact same episode. Thank you for any help. I appreciate it.

Even if you choose the "All Episodes" option when setting up a pass, it should not end up with duplicate recordings. The Channels DVR is smart enough to know that it has previously recorded an episode and will not record the same episode more than once. In fact, if you record an episode and later delete it, Channels will not re-record that same episode if it comes up again (although that behavior can be overridden).
That is true if using the built in Guide Data if using outside EPG sources all bets are off.
