Server compatible with new Mac Mini M4? (YES, Solved)

Hi there - I'm thinking about porting my old windows based server setup over to the new Mac mini M4 that was just announced (here).

Are there any compatibility considerations to getting this working on the Mac mini M4? Or would it be compatible today?

And does anyone have any anecdotes on how the server has performed on the M3 or M2? I'm assuming it's quite fast, but just curious (I have a 10+ yr old windows PC, so anything will be light years faster :). Thank you!

Well, I'm using the M1 Mac Mini as a CDVR and Scrypted server as well as a desktop computer, and it's done an outstanding job, I have no complaints. I can only imagine how much better the M4 mini would perform.

Hi there - I just got the Mac mini M4 setup and it's been amazing so far. One question though, I noticed in the Commercial Detection section that Enabled is grayed out, and it says "CPU too slow". Is the CPU really too slow? Or is the M4 not detected properly? I definitely would like to get commercial detection working. Thanks!

EDIT: I just searched around and others had the problem (I was on the latest stable release). Looks like the latest pre-release fixes things. All set!

v2024.11.09.0501 FIXED: Some features were not working on new Apple M4

I ran my Channels DVR server on an early 2009 Mac mini for a couple years, and more recently started using a 2019 iMac.

Yesterday, I received the M4 Mac mini and installed the Channels DVR server right away. Perfect little computer so far.
