Server hardware compatibility with Intel 10th gen processor?

I need to get new hardware for my DVR server and I've been searching for information regarding Channels DVR server compatibility with Intel processors with little luck. I've found tidbits of information but nothing that seems conclusive.

Is the current Linux stable Channels DVR server, version 2022.03.23.0209, compatible with Intel 10th generation processors?

I use HDHomeRun ATSC 3.0 tuners and need hevc hardware transcoding for remote viewing of OTA and recorded TV.

Thank you, Fred

Absolutely, I run Ubuntu 20.04 i5-10400

Works well, but under settings, transcoder, deinterlacer change deinterlacer to linear from hardware. I had trouble with 3.0 remote transcoding until I changed to linear deinterlacer.

Server is extremely reliable, don’t hesitate to use Linux with 10th gen

if there were an issue it would be a big deal since the entire Go language would have been affected.

While the DVR server itself is written in Go, other components are not. Both Ffmpeg (which handles the media wrangling, including transcoding) and Comskip (for commercial detection) are written in C.

Barring any actual error/flaw in the processor itself, as long as it adheres to the x86_64 instruction set there is no reason to worry about compatibility.

and any problems in these could remain unaddressed for more than 5 minutes ....

famous last words

If it can run win 10 or new ubunto. And is modern-ish. It will run channels. If its a NAS ( A real NAS) made by a reputable name. It will run channels. If its old and outdated. It will run(ish) channels.

Full stop.

Thanks everyone, sounds like a 10th gen processor should be fine. I just couldn't shake the feeling that I had read something a while back that Channels wasn't compatible with 10th gen yet.
