is there a way to record to a server without having the volume location on the desktop? I thought I did this
before but can not remember how I did it. Thanks
Not sure what you mean… what kind of server?
You can mount a remote drive and set that as your recording folder, but I highly discourage recording to remote drives as it effectively doubles the bandwidth requirements and introduces a lot of chances for weird failures.
I have the Synology DS216+II NAS and I also loaded the Channels DVR spk on it as well, I would like the
records to be on the NAS as well…
If you want to use your Synology, then you should uninstall the DVR software from your iMac.
Open the Terminal and run:
./channels-dvr/uninstall.sh
If you use the DVR that’s running on your Synology, then it will make recordings on your NAS directly.
Or are you trying to move over your existing recordings and passes?
thanks
