Server Time Offset Warning

FEATURE REQUEST:

This is a really simple idea, for an issue I had recently and solved. A simple check, which checks the location of the channels server, to the current server time being used.

In the event that the server time is offset, it should show a warning that there is an offset which will affect recording scheduled.

I was quite puzzled for a few minutes when I was trying to figure out why my recordings were 20minutes off then I quickly realized that the server time was off- having a nice warning in the dashboard would be a nice touch.

You should consider setting NTP client settings on your server, that would fix Channels as well as anything else running on your host, even if that’s all it runs, having The time off in your logs can lead to slow problem resolution.

I have now installed NTP- as soon as I realized the offset.

This thread is to help others, this issue will not affect me again.

NOTE: The offset was caused by the change in time (clocks going back, GMT to BST - or better known as daylight saving)
