I'm wondering with all the problems I'm having with interrupted video if I'm tasking my server too much...I've saw x4 recordings at once all been interrupted ...think if I limit to one recording at a time this interruption thing might go away?

That sounds like an awful weak server. Hard drive on USB3 port is recommend.

This. Using a USB “flash” drive as your storage is asking for trouble. At the least you should get a true USB hard drive. Without details on your tv model it’s impossible to tell but many of the Android TV models are pretty underpowered from a CPU perspective. If you’re enjoying Channels and plan on using it long term I’d recommend migrating to different server hardware. Of course you could always try a new HD first and if that solves the issue, great. If not, you could take the next step of going to a new server device.

My TV is an Android Cello 2040G...thing is I tried the Pc root and got the same issue ...interruptions ...my internet is hooked with a wired Vpn..not sure if this has a bearing ....it shows alot of errors not sure if the VPN has a bearing ..I'm thinking of buying a server ...as I absolutely wanna keep the service as it's best I've saw ...any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't have any experience with using Android TV as the server, but sounds like you tried other hardware and had the same issues... so guessing the problem is elsewhere. As a point of server comparison, I am running Channels on a 9 year old Mac Mini i5, and I've seen it doing 12 simultaneous recordings while also serving video to several streaming boxes in the house without any problems. So recording 4 shows is not a heavy load.
“Failed to download file” and “context cancelled” are both indicators that internet access was lost. The context cancelled one specifically makes me think the tcp connection was forced closed. This could be done by a firewall or anything else in your route to the internet. You mentioned a VPN. Are you saying all your internet access is tunneled through a VPN? If so, that would be my #1 suspect.
