Setting to only record new episodes up to a certain number of recordings?

I have shows that I don’t often watch but the Pass keeps recording new episodes, taking up a tuner. I’m wondering if there’s a way to set a pass with the following criteria:

  • Record new episodes
  • Keep up to X episodes
  • Only record new episodes when stored recordings < X

My understanding is that the “Unwatched + X Watched” setting will not do this since, based on the naming, it seems it would record ALL new episodes and keep X number of watched ones. But maybe someone could explain if it does or another way to handle this scenario. Thanks

There is no way to do this. Best you can do is pause/resume your pass so it stops recording. If you really wanted you could write a script to pause/resume the pass based on the number of recordings.
