My shield TV has been acting pretty wonky lately where it will just hang up and kill the DVR server. I am thinking of factory resetting it but have a few questions:

can the channels DVR server run on any version of shield TV SW? I would probably stay at the more stable original versions for a bit if possible.

what is the start back up process to get the DVR server working again, all my recordings (external attached drive) synced back up, settings TV passes etc back how I had it before, things like that.
Trying to figure out if it is a pretty seamless endeavor or a big pain
