I got Portainer Docker 20.10.14 installed. I was also able to install Frndly TV from terminal on my Mac following instructions. I'm not sure that I wave docker setup correctly as I haven't done any setup on it. Frndly TV is "running" but testing using "http://localhost:8183" does nothing and trying to add to Channels obviously doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
Try accessing from a browser and use the IP address where the FrndlyTV for Channels container is running. Mine is http://192.168.1.3:8183/
Should see this in the browser

No. that's the first thing I tried with the IP address from docker + :8183 and nothing. Is there a specific environment that is needed in Docker? I literally installed it then ran the Frndly script in terminal and went from there.
Where did you install Docker, on your Mac?
What script did you run, you have a link to it?
docker run -d --restart unless-stopped --env "USERNAME=MY_EMAIL" --env "PASSWORD=MY_PASSWORD" --name frndlytv-for-channels -p 8183:80 matthuisman/frndlytv-for-channels
Where did you install Docker, on your Mac?
On a WD PR2100 NAS
You have to replace MY_EMAIL with the email address for your FrndlyTV account and MY_PASSWORD with your password for the FrndlyTV account
Did you SSH into it from your Mac when you ran that script?
If you put your actual username and password in the script, then you'll need to check the Frndly for Channels container log for errors.
If you're not sure how to see the container log, you can run this to see that last hours worth (--since=1h).
docker logs -t --since=1h frndlytv-for-channels
Sent you a message
Nothing secret in there, you could have just posted.
2022-12-27T03:47:18.904323275Z Starting server on port 80
That one log line shows Frndly for Channells container is working.
Now you need to figure out what's blocking the browser on your Mac from reaching the container at the IP address of your WD PR2100 NAS. What does your browser say when you try to go there?
If it's a private IP address like 192.168.x.x just post it. Nobody can access that from the internet.
You should be seeing this from the browser
My docker setup for local and a bridge connection I guess. I don't have any idea what the deal is.
What does your Mac's browser say when you go to http://ip,address.of.nas:8183 ?
I'm not familiar with Portainer, could it be blocking access to the containers port 8183?
ah hah. you may have solved it
What was it, Portainer?
When I put the ip address of my NAS, the screen with two streams / instructions showed ip range 192. Didn't change anything.
