Setting up Nvidia Shield TV with Channels Plus DVR

Hi,

I am seriously considering buying a Nvidia Shield TV and subscribing to Channels Plus DVR. I will be using a Hdhomerun Connect as well.

If i download and run the Channels Plus DVR for Nvidia and plug a external drive (set as internal storage) will i be good to go?? I am hoping to be able to change channels with number pad on my universal control with ir usb.

The drive must be configured as external storage (not internal or adopted). But yes it is pretty simple.
