Settings, recordings, and passes lost when switching to new turner

I replaced two old HD HomeRun Connect turners with a new HomeRun Connect Quarto. I’m not sure what I did but it acted like a new setup after I deleted the two old turners through the webpage. After the initial setup and downloading of guide data, I discovered all my settings, recordings, and season passes are missing. The recordings still exist on the NAS under /video/Channels DVR/TV. The setup has DVR enabled under the path of /volume1/video. I even tried changing the path here to path of the recordings, but that didn’t help (and switched back to /volume1/video). Can I follow the following instructions I found in the forms to restore?

copy two files over from the backups: recorder.db and settings.db

shut down the dvr server
run ./channels-dvr/uninstall.sh
find the backup databases
go to your recordings directory
go into Database
find the backup-2017XXXXX directory from earlier today, before the upgrade
copy the two files into /Users/username/channels-dvr/data
start the dvr again
run ./channels-dvr/install.sh

Thanks.

To restore you need to visit http://x:8089/restore

Thanks. I went to the URL, navigated to directory with the backups, and select a backup from 8 hours ago, but nothing seemed to happen other than a confirmation dialog that a restore was going to occur. Do I just need to wait or did I need to stop the Channels app on the NAS?

The restore should be instant. When you selected a backup from the list, did it show more than 0 recordings underneath?

I’m not sure how your data disappeared in the first place… removing tuners doesn’t affect your settings or data.

The restore I selected stated 16 rules and 55 recordings. After noticing there were no season passes, I recreated a few passes and one is recording now. I’ll wait until it’s done recording before trying the restore again.

If you restore later you will no longer have access to the new recordings you made. There is no way to combine backups at the moment.

I understand. I’ll likely watch, delete, and then restore. Thanks.

I have been able to preform a restore, everything is back, and I consider this closed. Thanks for building the restore feature in this product.

The only suggestion I have is that the DVR functionality must be disabled via the main setting webpage (don’t stop the Channels App within the NAS as I initial thought when I saw a warning message when trying a restore) before preforming a restore from https/http://[IP_Address]:8089/restore. Otherwise this is great feature, which saved me.
