Nine times out of 10 when I shake to mute - the audio gets stuck in the off position. Continuously shaking and stopping or switching the volume up or down does not unstick it. The only way I can recover is if I back out of the channel and go to the guide and re-select. Unfortunately this doesn’t help when reviewing a paused channel. I always lose the section I am reviewing never to be seen. Very frustrating.
Yeah, I had similar problems with my old Apple TV Siri remote. I finally gave up and bought the new silver remote with a dedicated mute button. Actually, I wound up buying several. They work great on the older Apple TV HD models as well.
