Just noticed this issue has seemed to return in latest beta

been fine for months,

To fix this issue you need to go to Player tab and change Decoder to Software

This problem seems to be fixed with the recent shield 7.2 update. I have been watching tv all day using the hardware decoder and havent seen any green flash's.

Hi, I got a note from Nvidia checking in on my original bug report. This issue is solved right, and hardware decoding is working as expected?

Yes. No more green flashing but getting frequent freezing requiring reboot in hardware mode. About twice a day. Have sent plenty of diagnostics
