I’ve been using Channels with the Chromecast with Google TV, and recently picked up the new Apple TV 4k. The Apple TV seems pretty fast with channel changing/seek, though the deinterlacing seems inferior to the much-less- expensive Chromecast, particular on SD channels (even on experimental mode). On the Chromecast, deinterlacing works really well, though seek is a lot slower and jerky (it speeds up as you hold the button rather than staying steady as on the Apple TV). As such, I was wondering - how does the Nvidia Shield compare on seek and deinterlacing? I suspect at least some of the Chromecast’s seek performance is due to having not having Gigabit Ethernet and having a less-powerful CPU, though am wondering if some of this is just how the Android app works…
