About 75% of the time that I use any of the shortcut keys (F1-F4) to jump to a new section (Guide, TV Shows, etc) it will crash the app. This is on an Nvidia Shield.
This has been happening for at least a few months now.

I am also using a FLIRC on my Shield, but I can't imagine that is the cause since the Flirc translates the IR to keyboard commands. Maybe I'll try connecting a wireless keyboard and see if that also makes it crash.

there are definitely ways to always make it happen, and ways to avoid it, but cannot avoid 100%. best way for me to avoid it is with PIP on. I actually set the yellow button to toggle PIP.
Please try the latest Android Beta and see if it resolves your issue.
ahhh, yup, noob.. lol.. in all fairness these instructions make it sound like you can do beta thru google play, but it seems to no longer be the case. as far as i can tell it is now required to first sideload the beta, then update from within.

so this beta seems better, but I can force the problem reliably anytime by using a shortcut key to 'tv shows' or 'recordings' while on the guide.
few other notes; while watching a show in the release version I could use a shortcut to recordings or tv shows and it would auto PIP. this does not happen with beta.. I would very much like the PIP to work this way so when I sit on the remote it doesn't stop the show.
also when selecting a show from the tv show screen the 'watch card' (with 'watch' '...more' and 'trash') if I use the back button or PIP shortcut, it takes me back to this screen with the card, however I MUST then hit back again before any shortcut keys work, even the PIP won't go back to full screen until I back out of this card.
Interesting. I don't see any crashes from you in the last 6 days.
Very odd. I reviewed all of the changes between the last release and the latest beta build and I don't see any changes related to PIP or shortcuts.
do you see any? just curious if my pihole was blocking it
the gtv app force closes everytime. actually it's been handy as i've been migrating/cleaning my library to new hdd's lately, forcing a refresh.
@Shaggylive Could you try to reproduce it one more time and make sure to open the app again once you've done it? That should be enough for us to capture the error.
