Shutdown safe switch

Is there an easy way to shutdown safely via a local, physical button?

Occasionally, I need to shutdown/reboot my raspberry and for reasons beyond my skill set, the online access to the server is unavailable. I end up yanking power and then have to repair the corrupt sd card.

You might want to check out our custom Raspberry Pi image that was designed specifically to boot off a hard drive rather than an SD card, just because SD cards can be unreliable like this.

While it’s never a great idea to just unplug any computer, installing Channels this way can be a little more reliable.

I’ve got it booting from a usb flash drive already. Is this method any better that that?

Doesn’t this require coding integrated into the channels operating system?
