Can't say i agree. I mean, one of the latest deliveries is a hack to work with Plex, which on some functionality, is a direct competitor! SD ******s out competitors, if not removing other content. It's honestly not even in the same ballpark.
So from the last input on the patent registry... I can only assume this technology went know nowhere as the registration period expired and was subsequently closed?
This is the new device, to succeed HD HomeRun with full ATSC 3.0 with encryption support (4 tuner). Finally
Where do you see that?
I think in their dreams
Not likely https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=399573#p399573
Unless you think an ATSC 3.0 tuner is not TV related
mmm. Another failed/abandoned Silicon Dust product? I am sooo surprised.
Those dates are from almost a year ago, so perhaps that report is outdated. In January, SD said their trademark was approved: forgelink??? - Page 3 - Silicondust
I quit paying attention almost a year ago when one of the SD devs posted this...

If I had to guess, it's a TV tuner with HDMI output to comply with the A3SA DRM restrictions on gateway devices, thus will be running some version of Android in order to support Google Widevine. Likely means end of Apple supported platforms and no more remote streaming.
A3SA
I am hoping it's a platform for Auracast broadcasts of TV audio for venues with a large number of TVs (Bars, Fitness Centers, etc.). Tunity is good, but it's difficult to get the audio in sync with video of a live sporting event at the pub.
Here's my take on it. It's a way to test your trust and patience.
Do you trust SD to deliver "it", not knowing what "it" is.
Do you have the patience to wait until they tell you what "it" is.
That doesnât reconcile with what the Silicon Dust developer nickk posted, linked above:
âForgelink is a new product for us, not TV relatedâ
Bingo.
