Have followed the requirement to open port 8089 on my router and try logging in to the remote address supplied but safari continually tells me that the address isn’t private and I shouldn’t (or indeed can’t) open it.
Hi, is the url you’re trying to use http or https?

I’m looking at it whilst accessing dvr on my synology.
When I click on that link it does appear to say https but the address in the dvr window doesn’t.
I really want to be able to set recordings if I’ve forgotten to. Not actually watch anything.

Hi Just to follow this up. although I can set a programme for recording remotely I can’t seem to watch live tv or recorded tv. It shows transcoder starting. Then says “The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support”
This happens on both iphone and ipad. Both running ios 11.
