How many simultaneous streams can one have using Channels DVR in home and out of home say in another state? I am running the HDhomerun Connect QUATRO and the Synology DS218+ with 4TB HDD.
QUATRO = 4 tuners, so four things at once
Basically as tmm1 said, 4 streams for live TV.
Add recordings or chasing Live TV and it gets complicated.
If you're only using your Quatro (OTA high bandwidth TV) with Channels DVR then it depends on if you're watching locally/remotely, your Network Topology, Tuner Sharing, Channels Clients settings, etc.
OTA is high bandwidth (figure 12-18 Mbps per channel).
If you want to use that remotely it depends on your bandwidth between your endpoints, what bitrate you select, remux/transcode, what host device/OS you run it on.
Lots of variables.
I know what you wanted to hear is that you can stream Live OTA TV from all four tuners of your Quatro and watch unlimited previous Channels DVR recordings while also watching Live TVE Streams simultaneously remotely. We all do.
