Siri - What did he say?

I played back a recording today and tried to use Siri’s “what did he say?” Which rewinds, turns on subtitles for a few seconds and then plays. Should/can/will Channels DVR support this?

Channels can not support any Siri commands like that. These Siri features are features of the system video player provided by tvOS rather than features of tvOS itself.

Channels uses a custom video player in order to playback the format that is provided by the HDHomeRun. Most apps use the system video player to play back. They get these Siri features for free and do not have to actually implement them.

Unless Apple provides some sort of API to allow any app to respond to these requests, we can not support them. Those Siri functions are completed in the dark as far as the App knows.

Thanks. I believe I saw this in some videos I had in Plex which much mean it was using the system video player.
