Skip Detection

I'm a noob with all this. But, I got everything set up correctly (or so I thought). But, I recorded 2 movies and I went to watch them after recording and it isn't skipping the commercials. I have it checked in the Channels DVR settings. I'm watching through the Channels app on my Apple TV 4. I also have the Commercial Skipping set to Automatic in the app settings. Am I missing something here? I don't know if it matters but the movies were recorded from TVE channels.

It takes time for it to process and you can't skip commercials until it has finished processing.

What are you using as your dvr server?

As it shows in your screen shot, they are still being processed and 2 recordings still are in que.
Depending on the hardware in your server, it can take a long time for long programs, especially TVE that are .h264 and set to only 1 thread. can take 25+ min for a 1hr show...so a long 2hr movie, probably 45 min, if you use something like a Raspberry Pi4. Processing will be faster if you have a powerfull cpu like an i7 or such.

If you have a multi core cpu, u can up the threads it uses, but it will strain your cpu more, to gain faster processing.

You can search the forms here for commercial detection (or comskip) and there are a few threads of people posting how long it takes on their hardware.

For example:

I realized after my post that it is definitely my hard. I'm running a WD My Cloud Home Duo. I read in another thread that those can be pretty slow. So I'm going to upgrade my hardware to either use my Mac Mini or get a WD PR2100.
