Skipping recording because program has already started

I have had several programs not recording on occasion. Two in particular are BBC America and Steven Colbert. It is kinda hit or miss - sometimes they record and other times they will not. Is it perhaps guide related? I have included a portion of the log. The Steven Colbert show last night was a new episode and scheduled to start at 11:35.

Hmm, is your Mac setup to never sleep in energy preferences?

No - I have been depending on Bonjour. I noticed the log stated “Bonjour service registered with Johns-MacBook-Pro.local”

Bonjour will not wake your Mac up when it is time to make a recording.

If you don’t want to change your sleep settings, you can run the following command in Terminal.app to setup the auto-wake for recording feature:

./channels-dvr/install.sh --wake-helper

You will need to provide your password when prompted for the auto-wake installation.

I have had no problems to date when re-executing the command when I see an update, after restarting the computer, and leaving the terminal open.

Is all the above necessary or Is executing the command once sufficient?

Just once is enough, no need to leave the Terminal open once you’ve done that.

For the last 4 days everything has been running well - until this evening. The wake helper is enabled. Fortunately, I have a Tablo running in parallel. Any ideas?

Hmm, not sure why it would stop working all of a sudden…

Did you update macOS recently?

Yes, to macOS Sierra version 10.12.6 yesterday afternoon. I did run the " ./channels-dvr/install.sh --wake-helper " after the computer restarted.

Can you open Terminal.app and run these commands, and copy/paste the output:

sudo tail -1 /etc/sudoers
sudo ls -l /etc/sudoers.d
sudo cat /etc/sudoers.d/channels-dvr

Johns-MacBook-Pro:~ johngreenman$ sudo tail -1 /etc/sudoers
#includedir /private/etc/sudoers.d
Johns-MacBook-Pro:~ johngreenman$ sudo ls -l /etc/sudoers.d
total 8
-r--r----- 1 root wheel 242 Jul 21 18:49 channels-dvr
Johns-MacBook-Pro:~ johngreenman$ sudo cat /etc/sudoers.d/channels-dvr
Cmnd_Alias DVR_PMSET_SCHEDULE = /usr/bin/pmset schedule wakeorpoweron * com.getchannels.dvr
Cmnd_Alias DVR_PMSET_CANCEL = /usr/bin/pmset cancel wakeorpoweron * com.getchannels.dvr
ALL ALL=(root) NOPASSWD: DVR_PMSET_SCHEDULE, DVR_PMSET_CANCEL
Johns-MacBook-Pro:~ johngreenman$

Looks normal… Let me upgrade here and run some tests.
