Sleep issues with win 10 pro 64

Ok, latest issue is once Channels dvr wakes up my pc to record something it will go to sleep on time set when done then wakes back up within a minute and cycles like that till I shutoff the program and restart it after a short wait.
I know others have had issues the sleep function but didn't see any definite fixes. I haven't checked the command for seeing what is preventing it from sleeping but everything was fine till I installed Channels and if I kill it it sleeps fine.
Any help or a known fix apriciated.

This is a known issue. We have not been able to figure out why Windows keeps waking up.

I don't run Channels DVR server on a Windows system, however, I am very familiar with the annoyingness of Windows waking itself up from sleep, seemingly for no reason.

There are many devices, like input related, mouse, keybaord, wifi, bluetooth, that by default, are set in Device manager to Wake the computer. U can go in and disable this option per device.

U can also check Task Scheduler and see if there are any tasks that are running every X time or such that may wake the computer. There also is a command in terminal to use powercfg i think to show what last woke the computer, but that only reports certain things, and for me, showed nothing.

You also have wake on LAN and also wake on Activity for your NIC card to check.
U want Activity disabled, or it will just turn back on the second a packet comes to it.

For, me it was a bluetooth mouse, and sometimes a wireless mouse that has a dongle, even though the mouse was shut off, the receiver triggers a wakeup. If you have any wireless devices, remove the dongle from the computer and see if it stays asleep. If not, remove any usb devices plugged into it, one by one to narrow it down. If not an external device causing it, then it is for sure something internal device.

Thanks, I've just been wandering in and restarting the app then putting it back to sleep for now. Plex sometimes does similar and same solution, shut it down and restart but lately it's been playing nice again so maybe they or windows fixed something.

I think I've played with some of those settings before when I was fighting with Plex doing similar stuff. I'll have to check and see what's turned on again as things change.

I'm going to try a script in Task Scheduler to stop and restart Channels every morning between 2am and 2:05 am and see if it actually works. It appeared to take the start and stop task so I guess I'll find out if it worked tomorrow.

Well, they sorta work but it keeps killing the process eventually afterwards so I disabled them for now and I'll see if it records more stable then it has lately. Might have to find a free kill and restart program that actually works.
I wonder if it works any better under win7 ultimate 64 as far as sleep functions.

So have you gotten the sleep issue figure out yet? I'm about to build a new box with a AMD 570 chipset and a 12 core CPU so will probably do a new install of 10 and swap around my leftover boxes. Sometimes it seems to sleep OK after running a recording and sometimes it does the wake up a minute later so I still manually restart it to make it happy again.
I just loaded the latest Beta so we'll see if it changed anything.
