Slight pause here and there

So the Channels app has been working flawlessly for 3 or so weeks. So much so, that i cancelled Sky satellite and have moved onto this full time. Lately its just started pausing here and there, but the logs don't show anything. Is there a way for me to check the player logs? I thought it could of been the signal, but i cant check because on my.hdhomerun.com my device isn't there haha. but everythings working fine for now. DVR-wise, its fine, none of my recordings have had any trouble recording. So it makes me thing its network related, but it was fine before, not sure why it would start doing that now.

Would be handy to try and figure this out soon, as Strictly Come Dancing (dancing with the stars), starts soon and if this disrupts the other half's viewing, she will hit the roof and we'll end up getting sky again haha

cheers

you can connect to the hdhomerun using its ip address. If you don't know it, you could look it up in your router. This will give signal information.

So, issue with OTA could be the signal or it could be the network. If your devices are hardwired, you have very little troubleshooting to do and should focus on the signal. If you are using wifi, that is likely a problem.

yeah im using wifi. The apple tv is just so shockingly bad with ethernet that i cant use it and have to resort to wifi. but its seemed to work fine for weeks, not sure why it would do this now.

You can see the player logs via http://x.x.x.x:57000/log using the IP of your Apple TV

Thanks guys. i've put an ethernet cable in, seems to be fine. will need to try and sort a static ip for the ATV. will test over the weekend and see

No point making a new topic i guess. So , like before, everything works perfect. then something's happened and its unwatchable now. This doesn't appear to be bandwidth related.

Thats the gist of it. Sent a player log too

Sounds like it might be stream corruption. Open the tuner status page on my.hdhomerun.com and see what the Signal Quality and Signal Strength numbers show.

Interesting. I usually have quite a high signal quality. now it says:

|Signal Strength|89%|
|Signal Quality|none|
|Symbol Quality|none|

and now its back haha

Signal Strength 90%
Signal Quality 85%
Symbol Quality 100%

i went up to have a look, My aerial is behind trees, but i heard some pigeons fly away. maybe they were on it?
