Slow Live TV Tuning

Running Channels DVR (Version 2022.07.24.2308) on my QNAP TS1277 server. I get my 'Live TV steaming' services from 'Vidgo', and my local OTA channels via my 'HDHomeRun QUATRO', and I've only selected 8 local channels on the 'Quatro'. Both 'Vidgo' and the 'HDHomeRun QUATRO' are configured as sources, and recording content from both to QNAP seams to be working okay. To control everything and connect my TV to the network, I use a 'Fire TV Cube' and it's remote. The 'Fire TV Cube' connects to my home network via a wired connection (Fire TV network/power adapter).

The thing I'm have a problem, really an annoyance, with is, when I pull up the 'Channels Guide' and select one of my 'local' OTA stations, it sometimes takes 10 - 15 seconds for the stations video to play, while other times it shows a 'spinning circle' and sits there until I either hit the 'skip forward' control on the remote, which sometimes starts the video to play, or the back arrow on my remote to go back to the guide and start over. There have been times when I couldn't get my 'local' channel to play unless I tune to one of my 'Live TV streaming' stations from 'Vidgo'.

Is this normal or is there some setup option I missed that I need to change so when I select a 'local' station, it tunes to that station and plays the video without having to go through the steps identified above?

Suggestions anyone?

Try changing Settings > Playback > Advanced > Video Driver

What does it say on Settings > Support > Speed Test

In the Fire TV Channels app ‘settings’ section, I selected ‘Playback’, scrolled down to the bottom to ‘Advanced’, and the only optionsI see are ‘Stretch Video to Fit’, Surround Sound’, Video Decoder’, and ‘Tuner Sharing’, no Video Driver.

For Settings > Support > Speed Test, I get Download 99.48 Mbits, Latency 1.31 ms, and Jitter 0.35 ms

Yes Video Decoder > Software

Made the change and it seems to be working faster. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the quick response and help.
