Slow startup / loading on remote connection

Hi all,

I’ve got Channels running on my Unraid server as a Docker container.

At home - everything runs perfectly fine and super quick. I’ve got more than adequate resources on my server.

I’ve set up an Apple TV at my parents place to watch remotely, and every time they go to open the app, it takes a lot of time to load. The Channel Collections for example don’t appear for a while. Sometimes it also can’t even find the server, and the app needs to be closed and reopened several times.

Internet connections at both places are more than sufficient.

Any tips / tricks on what to do or check to make this work a little better?

What is your upload speed ?

500/200mbps connection at home. 1000/100 remote at my parents.

On the channels app in the ATV go to settings > support > Speed Test. What are the results?

For the remote ATV:
8.8ms ping, 180.4 Mbps down, 92.4 Mbps up

Do you have a large library? You may need to submit diagnostics from the app after it happens and email support with the issue and the alphanumeric code that will be in the server logs after submitting from the app.

Not an overly large library. Around 700 odd movies and 200 tv shows.

I’ll try submitting some support diagnostics.
