Sluggish during Playback - Bug?

Since moving to the App Store release playback has become quite slow to start (black screen with timeline and spinner), and every commercial skip takes a good 30 seconds or more to resume playing.

I tried jumping back to the test flight alpha and the problems disappear. Everything is instant again.

Which alpha build are you using? Should say on the Settings tab.

1.5.513

I should add I’m seeing the same behaviour (Alpha works, Release is slow) on my second ATV. Version on that alpha is 1.7.317. I somehow managed to miss updating the alpha on box.

Okay. Can you update one of the ATV to latest alpha (1.10.x) and see if the problem appears?

I think I know what’s causing it… was seeing the same issue myself earlier today.

What is the typical turn around for the App Store for bug fixes to Apps?

PS: I noticed this too…

I am having a problem playing back a recording that is currently recording. I do this every night but tonight can not start on any of the three Channlrs Apps. I guess should not have updated all at the same time. Very first time this happened so not worried. On latest releases.

having this problem too. App Store version slow, Alpha is perfect.

The update has been approved, but it’s sort of “stuck”. They’re working on it. We’ll report the second it lands on the App Store.

Anything new to report?

The app is in review and should be approved in the next few hours.

Yup all is back to normal! Cheers!

This is general release Channels so the App should auto update on your AppleTV. I just checked one of my AppleTVs and it is there. No new testflight beta.

How is the recorded show streamed to the ATV? Is there a buffer on the ATV? Jumping forwards/backwards is a little clunky.
