When using the remote DVR on tvOS the "On Now" section that opens at launch doesn't populate. As soon as I move to the guide everything is there. This only happens after the app has been forced closed or left in the background for a long period of time.
As a side note I'd like to request a default tab, a setting for "launch to" with options of "On Now", "Guide", "Recordings", or where you left off.
