Some general usage and storage questions

Just some miscellaneous questions:

  1. If I stop the DVR subscription, can I still watch the recorded shows on Channels?
  2. If not, what is the best media option for watching them? PLEX on my Xbox is having trouble with the files.
  3. Can I import the recorded files into ITunes library? (I am being lazy here, I can test this myself)
  4. Where is the tuner sharing option switch?
  1. No, the DVR software will stop working.

  2. A lot of people use Plex. I’m not sure what other options exist on Xbox. Try VLC maybe.

  3. You could convert the files with Handbrake and import into iTunes.

  4. The tuner sharing option appears on the Settings tab of the Channels app when it is connected to a DVR.

I have pointed infuse at my channels library. It seems to happily play any of it

Infuse and MrMC both will play Channels recordings to an ATV4 (? To Xbox One). Emby is a more full featured media server (can also play to ATV4) which appears to able to setup on an Xbox One.

We use Emby as a media server/aggregator for all files (including Channels files) which serves as a backend for playing to ATV4/iOS devices on MrMC. ((Immediate load and good ffd/rew).

As Channels is definitely our preferred playback choice due to the excellent com-skip feature coupled with instanteous load, ffd/rew. We are currently trying to re-record (replace all of our older non Channels) files to Channels DVR installation…to be able to utilize Channels as our only playback solution.

My sound cuts out using INFUSE 5 but not on Channels playback. Any idea why?

interestingly so does mine.

switched the audio track to 5.1 in settings (audio 1) and it seems to work fine

Switched it in Channels? INFUSE 5 I didn’t notice that setting.

If you start the mpeg file or whatever that’s in your channels folder. And loook at settings icon in top right corner. It’s in there.

I mean from infuse
