Another undesirable side effect of using Dolby Digital vs. PCM on the Nvidia Shield.
With Surround Sound On (and thus Dolby Digital) when I am watching a recorded program and pause the program and then unpause the program it takes about a half of a second until the audio kicks in and I miss audio. This is very undesirable when someone is talking or watching the news and I usually have to rewind to see what I've missed.
With Surround Sound Off (and thus PCM audio) the audio plays instantaneously with the video.
So the sooner we can get multi-channel PCM working on the Shield, the better
