Hello, I have Channels DVR (2023.08.07.2138 version) on Synology NAS and two HDhomerun devices. I want to record ABC news.
One HDhomerun is air broadcast and has HD version and SD version of ABC news (HD is channel 7.1, SD is 7 in Chicago).
Second HDHomerun is cable and has HD version (channel 200), SD channel is not enabled.
Air broadcast HDHomerun is first source in priority order, cable HDHomerun is second source.
In Pass Channels finds as sources 200, 7.1, and 7 (HD, HD, SD), in this order.
My understanding is, that Channels should prefer first source (Air HDHomerun) with HD channel 7.1 as that source is fist in priority and this is HD channel. This is what I want.
However, Channels prefers to use Cable connected HDHomerun and records HD channel 200.
I can add condition to restrict to channel 7.1 and record correct source, but should not have to.
Am I missing something here?
Was the prioritized tuner available at the time? Maybe it was out of tuners so it had to move to the other one?
Submit diagnostics, and we could look at the logs to see why I decided to use that one.
First of all, look at the scheduled recordings to see the channel order, it's not correct when viewing it from the pass matches.
Second, is your Prime channel 200 favorited?
Channels will first choose favorite channels, then HD, then SD.
It looks at channels in reverse numerical order (highest channel first) in your source devices (going from highest to lowest priority source) looking for a favorited channel, if none in any device source then an HD channel and finally an SD channel.
It was the favorite channels, I forgot I designated those long time ago and those were designated on the cable connected HDhomerun. I unfavorite all channels and now the fist is 7.1, second 200, and last 7 - exactly as I expected, Thank you!
