Source priority + channel order

Forgive me if this has been answered, I have searched and not quite found out what I was hoping for.

First I understand in favorites I can re order channels at my desire…..

I thought by changing source priority this would put guide in a certain order example
Priority is HDHR tuner, U-verse TVE, Pluto
But on the guide the tuner (OTA) numberically occurs first (yes) but then over a hundred Pluto check in then at 6000 my U-verse channels start.

Even though I chose U-verse as higher priority than Pluto… I just am trying to avoid making hundreds of favorites then reordering ….

Did I miss a previously offer solution ?

Thanks

Make sure on the Pluto M3U to ignore channels numbers from M3U and let channels handle them. That will number the Pluto Channels in the 9000's.

and just like that….

Thank you I never thought to look there….

Thank you very much

Ok follow up….
So the channels now behave better for order. And yes Pluto just put them at bottom…but i lost what was on… I re downloaded guide several times… but all I get is straight bar of Chanel not the shows, episodes that are on…. Is this because I said ignore channels from m3u?

A good rule of thumb whenever you change guide data, lineups, priority, or anything like that: in the DVR web UI go to Settings > Guide Database > Maintenance > Delete and Recreate Guide. After doing that, you will probably then want to force close/quit your client apps and re-launch them, forcing them to get fresh data from the newly updated server.

And that’s solid advice too! Thank you as well back on and re orderd…..

Now about auto tuning for future shows…..

I have not had to rebuild the guide as described above. About a minute after the change, my scheduled recordings adjust per the changes. Computers are fast yet there not always instant.

Depends on type of changes ... It is always good practice to recreate the guide ... Not doing caused me problems when moving TVE to the bottom of the priority list from the top.. .. The Passes still favored TVE for recording that night ... once I recreated the guide the Passes favored my pimes like I wanted.

I believe that happened Edwin. My experience was a few weeks ago. Possibly I got lucky or possibly it's due to an improvement. Easy to check after making the changes.

I know from experience that any change that affects pass scheduling doesn't get picked up by the scheduler until you do one of the following;

  • Wait for the next daily guide refresh
  • Force a guide refresh
  • Pause/Resume affected passes
  • Edit/Save affected passes
