Source Priority

Playing with TVE has been my first exposure to multiple sources and source priority. Are the following assumptions correct?

  • Channels DVR uses source priority for recordings, as well as the Web UI channel guide

  • Individual apps have their own source priority, which will impact what channels are shown in their own channel guide. This could mean different channels are shown in the channel guide in different apps and web ui

Yes. I believe you have it right. I have HDHomerun OTA and DTVN and PS VUE. Like with "Favorites" which I believe they are working on a SYNC option maybe they could have a SYNC option for the Source Priority. I have 8 Apple TV's besides the DVR so have to manually keep them all in SYNC.

However, I was wondering if there was a good reason to have them different but I do not think so? I have used the disable feature for some channels on my primary TV's that my wife likes on her primary TV's. I think if there were channels that I do not want on any TV's maybe they can be disabled on the DVR (maybe they can already) and exclude from all TV's like I can do with the HDHomerun?

Just installed 2019.06.18.0040 and for some reason it change the Source Priority on the DVR. Before I had it set to HDHomerun OTA, PS VUE, DTVN. After it was HDHomerun OTA, DTVN, PS VUE. Not sure why it change but I then changed it back.

PS VUE - 127 Channels
DTVN - 117 Channels

For some reason my DTVN does not have access to CNN, FOX News, FOX Business. Not sure how many more are missing. PS VUE has these.

I wish we could have support for Hulu Live TV. In the beginning they could not support Hulu or Philo but now we have support for Philo. Maybe in the future
