I have Channels DVR for Synology. I just suffered through Hurricane Ian and just got my power back after 4 days. Problem is? Spectrum internet is out. I have my iPhone hotspot...which I can connect to my mac, run Squid and offer out a SOCKS5 proxy for low-bandwidth needs (of which I consider the guide). I'm limited to 512Kbps-ish speeds so I don't wanna put a proxy in Synology and have the entire thing clog my hotspot.
Is there a way to proxy Channels w/o proxying my entire (heavy bandwidth) Synology?
I have Squid hooked up to my MacBook Pro and it's providing a proxy to the iPhone for data. I'd just need to see if I can make Channels make it's calls use a proxy. The other (bad) thing is that DNS is not proxied... but I think I can hack something to proxy DNS.
