Spectrum TVE Gone

Is anyone having an issue with Spectrum TVE? Most of the channels like HGTV, FOOD, Fox News, CNN no longer authenticate. I updated the password, rescanned, downloaded prerelease software and I only get 58 of 110 channels. The 58 are the channels no one wants to watch. I am running on Synology NAS.

I am totally shut down

Sorry to hear your issues with Spectrum. I too battled for a couple of months this summer. I found that after the developers implemented their fixes, I can now get 104 channels to authorize, but I had to essentially rebuild my server from scratch. I could not do a restore.

I run my server on TrueNas, so I deleted the app, all the config files and restarted TrueNas to make sure all the cache was cleared out. I did maintain all my personal media.

To get channels reinstalled, I followed these steps. I also have a back up Channels Server running on Linux Mint Desktop and following these steps I got the same results.

1st. I set up my TrueNas Config Datasets for Channels DVR and installed the App from the TrueNas catalog.

2nd. After the app installed I opened Channels DVR and went through the initial set up for a new server. Initially all I did was choose my storage location and then hit "Complete Install".

3rd. Once I was back to the Settings Page I updated to the latest Pre-Release.

4th. I then went in to add my sources. My HD Home Run was first and after it was complete I added Spectrum.

5th. Once Spectrum has cleared your login and password, it should only take 3-4 minutes to scan all the available channels. Before the developers implemented their fixes a couple of weeks ago it would take 15-30 minutes to scan all the channels and I would only get about 60 to lock in. Now I get 102-104 depending on which local channels it picks up that are available via TVE.

6th. Once Spectrum is finished loading, let it populate the guide data. Then add your personal media sources. I've also found that after the initial channel load that some channels do not tune on the first try, but if you hit play again they usually connect up. Once they connect they appear to stay locked in.

One final comment, a few months ago we received an email from Spectrum that they were eliminating their legacy emails and we would need to choose another email address. We had been using @roadrunner for at least 15 years, back when Spectrum was Time Warner. At that time we reset the admin account to a new email address. If you still use an old Spectrum email address, that could be impacting your log in.

Yes, this is a real annoyance to start from scratch and to try and remember all the settings you had before, but I have found this is the only way that has worked for me.

Good luck.
