Recordings over the last few days have all failed and I can't tune it right now. Says cable provider authentication failed. Tried a couple other stations and they seem to be working.
Looks like Discovery channel is having the same problem.
I don't even get the option to have Discovery channel on Spectrum.
The entire series of Discovery Channels is picky about authentication. Whenever a user adds Spectrum TVE as a source, most of the Discovery channels will fail in initial authentication, and you have to retry these individual channels manually over the period of a few hours or days.
That is not the situation with this thread.

I'm using Spectrum authentication. I just checked HGTV here, and it is fine. You might need to post some logs for someone to look at. I'm also not sure what version you are on, but I know there were issues with Spectrum a little while back that had to be resolved by updating to the pre-release Channels version. Just FYI, I'm now on version 2020.12.23.1651.
I did just submit logs and emailed support. I'm currently on 2020.12.10.1836
HGTV live TV login works fine with Spectrum, just can't authenticate on Channels DVR. Another Windows 7 thing?
Since Win7 is no longer receiving updates, this could be related to expired root certificates or similar.
Probably not, but I figured the developers could look into it anyways, as any rational human would probably believe that their website suggests the software will run on Win 7.
The software runs, sure. But failure to authenticate because the OS does not have the requisite security requirements is a different matter.
(Having a car that runs on leaded gasoline doesn't mean there's a problem with the car if you can't find a gas station that doesn't have leaded gas. They are two separate things; apples and rutabagas.)
Anyways ... any chance we can get this working again.
Ovation seems to be working, so it's not a Discovery specific issue.
Ovation is not a Discovery network. They are owned by Hubbard (who also own Reelz).
