Stack Duplicates - What am I not understanding?

I have a Tivo Stream 4k running Channels with 3 sources - AT&T via TVE, an HDHR hooked to an antenna, and an HDHR with a cable card connected to XFinity. Through my antenna, I get most Baltimore and DC channels. Through my Xfinity I get just Baltimore channels. I have Channel Stacking via channel number enabled on the client.
My situation is that fairly often, my XFinity will go out, and if I choose our local fox channel (805 on XFinity, 45.1 on antenna), it will show I'm watching FOX on 805, but what I end up seeing is the DC Fox channel (5.1 on antenna). Most of the time the shows are the same, but especially for local news, of course it's different.
Looking at the guide, I do see 3 fox channels, 5.1, 45.1 on antenna, and 805 on XFinity which should be the same as 45.1 on antenna, but somehow when Comcast is out it is automatically showing me the DC channel, which isn't even on XFinity for me, even while telling me I'm seeing the Baltimore channel.

For a couple days, I had myself convinced I was crazy, or that maybe for some reason the Baltimore local news crew was sick so they were simulcasting the DC fox news, but that doesn't seem to be the case.. (I still may be crazy, but that would be for other reasons!)

Anyone ever seen this or have a reason it may be happening?

TIA..
Steve

Check what order the sources appear on the Manage Sources tab. That's the order in which it should be trying the channels, and only when the first channel fails to load.

And that's Settings > Manage Sources in your client device, not the web UI. Source priority and channel favorite/disabled settings are per client, not centralized/synced.

I will do that, and return with the info, but the main issue is that they are NOT the same channel.. They are both fox affiliates, but what would make it substitute a DIFFERENT fox station? One is WBFF and the other is WTTG, so I dont understand regardless of "order" why it could possibly pick one as a substitute for the other if the shows are different.

Maybe because they're both labeled fox?

If you submit diagnostics from the app I can take a closer look.

If I submit diagnostics, should I do so while I'm experiencing the problem, or does it not matter?

So - I did go back and look at the client side provider priorities.. First on the list was my Antenna HDHR, second was AT&T via TVE, and third was my XFinity cable card connected HDHR. This actually surprised me because the ONLY way I should have been able to get WTTG (Fox DC) would have been through the antenna, and Fox45 (WBFF Baltimore) is also received on the antenna, so maybe it's happening more than just when the xfinity is down.

If I'm overlaying channels by number, I'm not sure why 5.1 would be a substitute for 45.1 or 805 on xfinity in any case.

I'll keep a close eye and see if I can catch it happening again. Maybe I'll set something to record on 805 and then unplug the XFinity HDHR and see what happens.
Thanks for the help!

I need a baseline diagnostics so I can check the three channels and what their metadata says

It's actually happening now..
My cable appears to be out -

I submitted diagnostics and it said it saved as 0f84442e-883f-4115-b31b-38103634674d
I typed "805" which is the channel NUMBER for WBFF Baltimore fox, but presumably it can't receive that channel now over the cable.. I would expect it to pick WBFF from the OTA receiver which is 45.1 and would have the same callsign (or just fail completely) but it tuned to WTTG Fox DC (OTA 5.1) and is showing me an infomercial even though the info on the client thinks it's "Emeril Fried Chicken". The channels server says Watching ch5.1 WTTG-DT from 192.168.1.58: strength=86% quality=98% symbol=100% rate=10.1Mb/sec so it knows it's not getting WBFF.

Just for kicks, I just manually selected 45.1 and it does indeed play the Emeril show it thought it was playing on 820..

Thanks for the help!!

I need diagnostics sent from the Channels app on your TV

45.1 is not a substitute for 5.1. I have both with different programming. Easily selectable in the guide. You probably have something not right with the guide data/mappings.

I agree 100%.. Actually, from the perspective of channel NUMBER, the problem isn't between those I guess - The problem is actually when my Channel 805, which is Comcast's version of WBFF goes out, it will tune the other tuner to antenna 5.1 and still represent to the client that it is watching 805. 45.1 on antenna is the same channel (content, not delivery method) as 805 on comcast, so if 895 goes out, it would make sense to switch to 45.1 but somehow it's substituting 5.1, so it must be using the "FOX" label, not even considering the callsign.

It will be showing me on the guide and info that I have 805 selected, but visually showing me 5.1. If I go into the server and look at the tuner activity, it will show that it is tuned to 5.1, and show the correct show title for what is on 5.1

It's really strange..

I'll get client diags as soon as I notice it happening again..

Not necessary to wait for anything, we simply need diagnostics from the client.

OK - I sent client diags a few hours ago.. sorry I didn't have time to post earlier, but it was just before 6pm EDT (GMT-4).. I dont know if there's another way to reference my upload

This problem is definitely more widespread than I thought.. I added a LOCAST source, which gets different channels than my antenna, so some of the channel numbers are the same, while the channels those numbers represent are completely different.. different networks, different shows, etc.. and the guide is completely mixed up, and it is NOT just limited to the Tivo Stream 4k that I am using. The problem even exists in the web client.
Here is a photo of my TV screen, showing there are two "2.1" channels, which is correct - One should represent WMAR which I am receiving through an antenna HDHomeRun and the other should represent KDKA which I am receiving through Locast. You can see that even in the guide data, it shows one show from EACH channel in BOTH lines, vs. having the separate guide data for each channel on one line properly: (Sorry for the horrible blue.. yes there's something wrong with my TV but it doesn't look like that in person!!)

No matter which of these versions of 2.1 I watch, it tunes the HDHomeRun channel, which is higher in the priority list.

So, I went to the web client and found the EXACT same thing happening. On the web client, I decided to filter ONLY on the one source, to try to force it to show me the KDKA show and although it thinks it is showing the KDKA show you can see in the bottom right, it is really the other channel:

I was able to reverse how it was working, and always show the KDKA on all of the 2.1 channels by putting it higher in the tuner priority, so I know the source itself works.

I have tried all combination of stacking by channel/guide data and ordering by channel number/name and it still does the same thing.

I have uploaded diagnostics logs from the TivoStream device. I also upgraded to the latest build (beta) to see if that helped but it made no difference.

Any help would be awesome!!
Thanks in advance!!
Steve

Channel number conflicts are not supported. You can change your dvr Locast source to use non-OTA numbers via the gear drop down.

AWESOME... now if only Locast still existed and I could test it!! Thank you so much for this - I think it may help me figure out the rest of my problems too!
