Do we know if there is a way to start in live TV when I open the App instead of what's on now.

For Apple clients, yes. For Android/Fire, this is not yet available.

This would be good to get it on the fire tv version, I have an Alexa morning routine which turns on some lights and my TV, and I can get it to launch an app on my fire TV, so if I could set the channels app to start playing BBC1, channel 1, on launch, for the news in the morning, that would be ideal.

I have messed with the idea of getting BBC iPlayer to do this, but the Alexa command will not load the local stream, which is no good when they go to the regional segment and it starts playing the London Local news, when I want East Yorkshire and the Humber local news, so getting the Channels App on fire stick to do this would be amazing.

You could use the API: getchannels.com/api

APIs are a little beyond me, I’ll do some research and see if I could figure out how I would use them
