Storage Full error

I fall asleep and awake to a black Channels DVR screen that says 'storage full'.

This happens pretty much every night.

I have 6TB on the drive and am not recording anything. It otherwise has zero problems during the day.

Anybody seen anything like this?

You can start by checking the Status Tab in the Channels Server Settings to find out how much storage space is left on your drive.

Sounds like the error is on the client device you're using to watch with.
It's probably buffering to a cache on the device.

What Channels client are you using, and is it low on space?

There is 6TB on the DVR drive. I am using Channels DVR on Unraid as a docker container and the client is Channels on the Nvidia Shield. The Shield has 5GB available.

The Nvidia Shield may have 5GB free now, but check it when you get the error.
Also, posting a screenshot of the error would help.
The developers may ask you to submit diagnostics from the Channels app on the Nvidia Shield next time it happens.

You can also change settings so the buffer is on the server, instead of on the client.
Set Settings > Playback > Streaming Quality > Original Quality Delivery to Stream

This is great information, I will get a picture and try your suggestions. Thanks community!!!

I had the same issue. A few nights in a row, I’d wake up and see the black “storage full” screen, even though I wasn’t recording anything and had plenty of space on the drive.

Eventually, I realized there was a small issue with the app’s cache or recording settings. After clearing the cache and restarting the system, the problem was fixed. It might help to check if there are any unsaved recordings taking up space.

If it’s still happening, maybe try checking the drive to make sure there’s no issue with formatting or space calculation. Hope that helps!

I'll give clearing cache a try, but otherwise the Shield has a 256gb thumb drive.....

The server has about 6TB.

It does sound like a glitchy problem so I will go your solution a try. Thanks!
