I have TV running through Channels. Everything seems to work fine. However, I have an issue with a couple of channels working fine (live or recordings) when watching through Channels DVR in my web browser., but video stutters (audio is fine) when watching through Channels on Google TV Chromecast (live or recordings). I am confused because it works on Channels DVR browser but not smoothly with Channels DVR Google TV Chromecast. Any suggestions?
It could be remuxing or transcoding when playing in the web UI player, but not to the GTV Chromecast.
Is there any way to remedy that? The same channels work fine in Tivimate on the same Google TV Chromecast. I have never had the issue in Channels DVR with GTV Chromecast before
Not sure, but you can try changing the streaming settings in the Channels app on the GTV Chromecast to see if it helps. Someone using one or one of the developers would know for sure.
It is only a few channels which makes it more bizarre. Thanks for your response.
Could be issues with the stream from the provider.
Try enabling the EXPERIMENTAL: New MPEG-TS Rewriter for HLS (TVE) in the DVR web admin UI settings
If you still have the issue after trying the suggestion above, maybe try to change the video decoder of Channels DVR on your Google device. In the Channels DVR app on your Google device, that's in Settings / Playback / Advanced / Video Decoder.
Did you submit log files
I think this is best advice. I think this is the one that will resolve his issue.
I use the shield and find this helps with video files that dont want to play.
Examble high bitrate h265 stutters in software and hybrid, but works in hardware
My copy of King of Queens works in software but not hardware.
His issue is with iptv (taboo subject). But i am guessing his issue still boils down to CDVR playback of that codec. IPTV tends to be a hodge podge mess. So all the channels might not be using the same codec. Hence needing to switch hardware/software.
FIXED - Settings / Playback / Advanced / Video Decoder
Changed from Hybrid to Software
Thank you!
You might find it is even better with the Hardware setting on a CCwGTV, depending upon what your server is. Additionally, try turning off surround sound. Just with every change you make, test to make sure different types of stations all work fine and different types of video files/recordings work without issue. A fix of one can screw up the others.
