I am testing Channels DVR now, I have it running on all my TVs except my Roku device. I saw someone say you can click watch and select the Roku device but mine does not show up. I have myTVs on an IoT device and my iPad is running on my LAN. Is there certain ports I need to open for me to stream from my iPad to my Roku TV.
If you mean they're on a separate segment, your Rokus won't be discoverable unless whatever routes between them passes the multicast packets required for the Simple Service Discovery Protocol to work. Generally, it's easier if everything is on the same segment.
I've also noticed that it takes the Channels server awhile to notice that my Roku TV has been turned on and add it to the list. (My standalone, always-on Roku is always there.)
